Here is the original
5-speed 915 gearbox,
when i bougt the car the
1st and 2nd gear was
worn out so that had to
be done. |
|
The gearbox is
emptied and cleaned in a
warm bath, the one You
normally find in
autogarages.
Now it is ready
for a light glass
blasting, to be 100%
cleaned and getting the
same colour all over.
All holes are
proteced so that nothing
gets inside the gearbox. |

After
the glass blasting :

Here is the reslut of
the work after blasting.
Now ot is ready for
paint, and for that I
have chosen a heat
resistant clear coat,
its ment to protect and
at the same time keep
the original apperance.
It would also be
very easy to keep clean.
If You dont paint
it after blasting, it
would turn very ugly in
1 or 2 years.

Here is the first
shot after the paint, it
has almost got that
factory apperance, still
it looks amazing, 35
years old. |

|
|
The g915 gearbox is
now assembled again, new
clucth, balanced and
ready to go.
New seals and bearings
all over should make it
smooth and a pleasure to
drive. |
